Bitching and Moaning, is it Rabble Worthy?

Giraffe here, back from hiatus in sunny Southern California. Mickey says, "Hi."

Today's blog looks at what our leaders and wannabe leaders are actually saying on the campaign trail, on websites, on television, on social media...in short, everywhere people are saying things to other people. Let's start with one of my personal favorite treasure troves of absurdity, Joe Biden. On the campaign trail in Iowa Biden said, "I promise you if I'm elected president, you're going to see the single most important thing that changes America, we're gonna cure cancer." There you have it. Joe Biden, by virtue of winning an election, is going to do what neuroscientists, biologists, oncologists, physicists, pathologists, and Dr. Phil have failed to do over the past two centuries. That right there...that's some bold shit. Or it's stupid. I can be found in either camp. More telling though, is what he said afterward. He spoke for just over an hour. His remarks could be boiled down to, "Trump is Satan." That's it. Nothing new, nothing innovative (cancer curing notwithstanding), nothing at all except, "Trump is Satan."

Switching to the other side for a moment, Breitbart News Network tonight features 90% of their stories just talking about what the other guy said. Kamala Harris said this. Joy Behar said that. Miley Cyrus said this. Let's stop there. Who in God's name cares what Miley Cyrus says, feels, or thinks. That's only two examples, but there are scores. Both sides just throwing red meat to their rabid followers. Here is the Giraffe's bottom line: There are no ideas. There is nothing constructive (curing cancer notwithstanding). There is just more of the same.

Bitching, moaning...rabble, rabble.

Think I'm kidding? Here is a typical stump speech:

"Blah, blah, blah Trump criminal. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah Impeach Trump. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, racism. Etcetera and so forth."

This same speech has been, and is being parroted by all 97 democrat candidates. There isn't an original thought in the bunch. In a laboratory somewhere, some evil, psychopathic scientist has perfected the formula and infected both political parties with the, "Hive Think" germ. It's either A or B. There is no C. For that matter, there is no D E F G H % & and so on, etcetera, and so forth. How did Pro-Life and Pro-LGB (lesbian, gay, bisexual; note there is no T because there is no T) become mutually exclusive? When did Gun Rights and Civil Rights become mutually exclusive? Why'd do I have to be everything on your list? For a country that gave us Abraham Lincoln, Amelia Earhart, Steve Jobs, Jimmy Stewart, Rosa Parks, Sacagawea, Ansel Adams, Helen Keller, Thomas Paine, and Sitting Bull, it's incredible to me that we have lost our trail-blazing way and collectively have not a single new thought or idea. What we HAVE done is we have allowed our 500 rulers to lead us 327,000,000 people into one of two hives. Here's the kicker, both hives??? Yeah, they're practically the same. As are the 500 rulers.

Men and women of conscience need to be men and women of conscience. For if we continue to be led into our respective ant holes, we really are just rabble.
